Medical University of the Americas – Nevis
Medical University of the Americas – Nevis (MUA) is a private, for-profit medical school located in Whitehall, Nevis in the West Indies. MUA confers upon its graduates the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. The university is owned by R3 Education, Inc. == Curriculum ==
The MD program at MUA is a 10 semester course of study that consists of three semesters per calendar year. Semesters 1-5 are basic sciences semesters that are completed at the university's Nevis campus. During Semester 5, MUA students accompany faculty on rounds at the Alexandria Hospital in Charlestown, Nevis. Semesters 6-10 consist of 72 weeks of clinical training at hospitals in the United States.
MUA also offers a one year, two-semester pre-medical program for students who need to meet additional course requirements to be considered for the M.D. program.
